Apple ipod Nano Main features of iPod Nano
Video: iPod Nano has a built-in video camera, small enough to carry everywhere. It allows you to record fun as it happens, edit it, add special effects and share it with friends on the Internet.

Genius: The genius feature in iPod allows us to group the songs that go great together. It creates a separate playlist for those songs. The playlist could be saved, refreshed later and used for attaining great remix results.

Shake to shuffle: Turning on this feature in the iPod makes the iPod play songs randomly each time it is shuffled. Also the images of the songs album could be viewed easily on the cover. This helps the user to select the song easily.

FM + Live Pause: Apple must have been listening to its customers as, for the first time, FM radio is included in apple iPod. There is a special feature called Live pause in this iPod. The radio station being heard could be paused in the middle, contents recorded and heard up to 15 minutes time.

Pedometer: there is an attached pedometer which could help the user when they work out in the gym. It acts as an independent cardio machine and keeps track of details of the exercises done, time, speed and calories burnt.

The Good
The iPod comes in numerous attractive colors. The audio quality is excellent. The sound quality score is 83 %. The video display is quite sharp. The menu is very user friendly, making it very easy to operate. The navigation speed is very high and there are lots of extra features like voice over song, inbuilt microphone and flash memory.

The video recording technology is at its best. The recorded videos could be shared immediately using a Mac system. Some simple special effects like grain and blur could be done in the iPod itself.

The Not So Good
Content can only be transferred with iTunes. The display screen is too small. Though it has a bright slim appearance and is durable, it is liable to get scratch marks and finger prints are shown distinctly.

Although some common features like Fm radio and voice recording facilities which were missing in other iPods are included in this, still a few people feel it is a little hard to access advanced features like Pedometer and Live pause because of slightly complex menu navigation.

Areas that could be improved
Battery life could be extended a little more. Also menu navigation for advanced features should be simplified. The Wi-Fi features should be present in an advanced product such as this.

The Verdict
The sleek colorful design is a definite attraction. Apple Nano iPod has flash player and is quite affordable. Some third party devices should be added to avail certain facilities. For example we can mention the fitness kit. But this is compensated by crystal clear, loud audio and excellent video display. The overall score for the iPod is 77%.
