Apple will likely keep the price fixed for the first few months after release. Apple iPad is considered to be the masterpiece of Apple's products. iPad will act as an alternative for many devices like eBook readers and netbooks. The only feature missing will be the facility to call. iPads launch is considered by some, to be revolutionary in the market place.
Chance for a flexible price tag
Experts are also warning not to be too stern in fixing the price tags. iPad lacks camera facility completely. In some people's views, iPhone itself is more useful than iPad. Apple management has decided to keep the price tag fixed for a few months to see the initial response of the people. They have agreed to bring down the price tag if there are negative results.
Pros and cons
Apple iPads main advantage and most showcased feature are its high speed internet connection and ability to support numerous eBooks. On the other hand its main drawback is that it lacks flash support and camera. Many people think buying such a costly device without even a camera facility is not a good option. However eBook lovers consider this best as it will be hustle free and simple to use.
Three in one
Enormous amount of money has been spent on Apple iPads marketing in order to creating interest in the market, especially with the younger users. The fact that this tablet computer doubles as an eBook reader is no accident and is obviously an attempt to capture some fo the kindle market and inmprove Apple's share of the overall media and book reader market. Imagine the amount you would spent to get a proper eBook, a netbook and an iPod separately? The features of all these three devices are combined in this one slate and it is worth investing in it provided all the features work as promised of course.
Conclusion
At the moment it seems there is no way the price tag of iPad will change. But based upon the reception of the unit by the public, Apple may make the iPads price more flexible for both the models.
Estimated sales of Apple iPad
Apple considers its iPad as a very superior product. But some experts still argue it misses some useful features which could attract the market such as a camera and USB card slot. They have mentioned their views clearly to the Apples management as well.
Needham analysis
According to tNeedhams. analysts stated they estimate to see 2 million iPads sold this year and about six million by the end of 2011. However Apple claims it actually has plans to sell nearly 4 million iPads by the end of this year.
Needham analysts have warned Apple about the drawbacks of the device and the current economic situation too. Apple is confident that this device will be a one stop solution all the digital needs of the customer.
Other expert's views
Experts warn about the features lacking in iPad like multitasking, lack of camera and lack of USB ports. Another main issue is Apples problem with Adobe. Lack of flash player is definitely a serious feature to be considered. However the results will be known only after we see the performance of the player.
Based on all this analysts say the initial curiousness the device create will fade out so and people will start noticing the flaws. They say the estimated sales target might be met at the initial few months. But as people get their hands on experience on the device the sales might go down in the later part of the year.
Apple's confidence
Apple have been advised to concentrate on marketing the product at that period of time and to fix some of the important features like multitasking. Despite this Apple is said to be perfectly satisfied with the current status of the iPad.
Apple claims users, once they start to use the iPad, will never be dissatisfied by the lack of some expected features, but will be overwhelmed by the amazing useful features it provides. This is true to an extent. we shall wait and see whether Apple meets its estimated sales target or brings down the price further in an effort to increase sales.
