Useful Accessories with iPad

Using the iPad is one of the best ways to experience the concept 'world at our finger tip'. We can browse the web, sent emails, view photos, videos, access YouTube, purchase from iTunes, read iBooks and view maps through a few finger swipes.

The extensively large display screen suitable for eBook readers dominates one whole side of the iPad leaving way for only one single control. Though we have very extensive touch screen interface, it is a little bit hard to use such a broad device while typing and searching.

The iPad designers were conscious of this large size and eliminated many ports to keep the size of the iPad slim and even. Hence we need to use some proper accessories to avail the full benefits of the iPad. Let us see about some of the important accessories accompanying the iPad.

We get a Dock connector to connect, a USB cable and a 10W USB power adaptor along with the iPad when we purchase it. Apart from that we need to get a few necessary objects which will prove very useful when we use the iPad. They are:

2. iPad Case
3. iPad Camera Connection kit

Let us see about the iPad Dock and the USB Power Adaptor first as we need not pay anything extra for these accessories.

iPad Dock
We fit our iPad on this dock to charge it. The dock has a simple audio jack and a 30-pin connector. We can connect a USB adaptor to the 30-pin connector and an electric outlet to charge it. We can connect our iPad to our computer in the same way using this USB adaptor. We can connect speakers or stereo to the audio jack.

iPad 10W USB Power Adapter
The 6-foot-long 10W USB Power Adapter is used for charging the iPad. It enables us to connect our iPad directly to an electrical plug. Since it is 6 foot long we can easily connect the iPad to a plug point in the other end of the room also.

iPad Keyboard Dock
iPad features a fully enhanced built-in QWERTY keyboard. This keyboard could be used to type emails and search the contents. But many people feel this alone is not enough. Business people who are use lot of documents miss the full fledged keyboard a lot. Since iPad is capable of handling huge amount of documents an additional keyboard serve as a very useful accessory. The iPad dock connects the keyboard to the iPad through the 30-pin connector.

iPad Case
The iPad Case is as necessary as a cover for our mobile. A good iPad case makes the iPad portable and keeps it safe from varying weather conditions. It helps in holding the iPad easily, protects it from scratches and finger prints and keeps it safe from dust and shock. Using the iPad case we can mount the iPad in different positions suitable to watch slide shows and movies.

iPad Camera Connection Kit
This is the most important accessory we need to make full use of the iPad. iPad does not have a USB port in its body. The Charging dock accompanying the iPad also has a 30-pin connector only. If we want to transfer data from our digital camera, computer or any other devices directly into the iPad we need to use this iPad Camera Connection Kit.

This kit has a SD card reader and a USB jack. We can use the kit and connect directly to the camera or computer using the USB cable. Else we can make use of the SD card reader to read the contents from the camera's SD card.

First place the iPad on the iPad dock. Connect the iPad Camera Connection Kit to the 30-pin connector. Now use the card reader or just a USB cable to transfer data from the desired devices directly. This is a slightly complicated means of transporting data when compared to the advanced ports in iPhone.

But the designers of the iPad have aimed in keeping the controls as minimized as possible. So they haven't included a USB port in the body of the iPad. So this is the only way to transfer data from other devices into the iPad.

Conclusion
These are some of the main accessories accompanying iPad. Though some people feel the usage of some of these accessories could have been eliminated through a slightly modified design, we do not have any better options at the moment.
